The Thunderstruck Cello

$4200

Once upon a time, a mighty ash tree was struck by lightning. The wound never healed. Years later, a piece of that tree found a new life as part of a truly unique instrument.

The Thunderstruck Cello is a four-string, semi-acoustic cello handcrafted from ash wood. Its most striking feature? A natural crack left by the lightning strike, transformed into a sound hole.
No two stories are alike. No two instruments are either. This one carries a scar from the sky itself — a reminder that even nature’s accidents can become something extraordinary.

The headstock is sculpted into the shape of a bird — a phoenix rising from the ash… A symbol of rebirth, resilience, and transformation, it echoes the story of the lightning-struck ash from which this instrument was born. From a wounded tree to a living voice, the Thunderstruck Cello carries the spirit of renewal in every detail.

The fingerboard features microtonal frets made from fishing line — an unconventional choice that challenges tradition and opens the door to new sonic possibilities. Almost invisible to the eye, these delicate frets offer precise control over pitch while inviting the player to explore the subtle spaces between notes.
