DASHTICK CAGLAMA
A raw, experimental take on the traditional bağlama, reimagined as a solid-body electric instrument with a distinctive, primitive edge. The Dashtick Caglama combines the stripped-down attitude of Dashtick guitars with the ancient soul of Anatolian string traditions.
Built around a solid ash body, charred and stained in deep blue, each instrument carries a weathered, almost ritualistic character — somewhere between a scorched relic and a piece of outsider luthiery. Antique Fender-style single-rail pickups deliver a direct, cutting electric voice, balancing sharp attack, gritty resonance and unconventional tonal textures.
The fretboard features hand-tied microtonal frets, allowing the instrument to move freely between traditional modal expression and uncharted sonic territory. Three double-course strings create a compact, unusual playing system, blending the drone-like richness of paired strings with the raw immediacy of an electric guitar.
Neither a conventional bağlama nor a guitar, the Dashtick Caglama is an instrument built for exploration — microtonal melodies, metallic drones, unstable harmonics and sounds that sit somewhere between folk tradition, desert blues and experimental noise.
Hand-built. Charred ash. Blue stain. Six strings in three courses. Microtonal by nature. Uncompromising by design.
